Congratulations to the Statewide Winners!

Congratulations to Carter Watts who was named this year’s statewide winner. Carter was hosted virtually by Village Bank. As the statewide winner, Carter received a $5,000 scholarship in addition to her $2,500 regional scholarship.

In recognition of the 30th anniversary of Bank Day, an additional statewide runner-up scholarship was awarded this year. Congratulations to Isaac Rits, hosted virtually by Burke & Herbert Bank, for being named this year’s statewide runner-up. Isaac received a $3,000 scholarship as the statewide runner-up in addition to his $2,500 regional scholarship.

Congratulations to the 2021 Bank Day Regional and Honorable Mention Winners!

Each of the six regional winners will receive a $2,500 college scholarship. There were also six honorable mention winners who will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship.

Regional Winners:

  • What’s the most-used app on your phone? The Weather App. I am the designated Weather person in my family; when ever they come up to me and ask what the weather will be for that day, I am always prepared to tell them.
  • If you could host a talk show or podcast, who would be your first guest? Donna Moran
  • Favorite weekend activity: Spending time at the James River Park System.

  • What’s the top thing on your bucket list? I would love to spend a month traveling throughout Europe.

  • How would you spend one million dollars? I would pay for my college education, tithe to my church, and invest.

  • How would you spend one million dollars? I’d invest a quarter in various mutual funds, then give the other three quarters to non profit organizations whose values align with my own.

  • Favorite weekend activity: I love spending time with family and friends downtown! I love going to small stores and coffee shops.
  • How would you spend one million dollars? First I would donate money so that local businesses who may be struggling can work towards success. After this, I would buy my own house and renovate it because I love watching designing and decorating.
