Due to the rising cases and community spread of COVID-19 in Richmond and throughout Virginia, 2022 VBA Banker Day, as well as the pre-Banker Day reception, are cancelled for January 13th. Registration fees for Banker Day will be refunded. If you had already scheduled meetings with legislators, please reach out to them directly to cancel.

The VBA is working with the Richmond Downtown Marriott to cancel hotel reservations made in the block for Banker Day. We will advise you if that occurs or if you need to contact the Marriott individually.

We appreciate your interest in participating in this important grassroots advocacy event and hope you will engage in future opportunities to meet with your elected officials. The VBA will continue to monitor the current health and safety circumstances to determine whether an in-person advocacy event is possible during the 2022 Virginia General Assembly session and we will communicate any potential opportunity with you. Please let the VBA Government Relations team know if you have the opportunity to interact with your state legislators over the next few weeks in their districts or Capitol offices.

You can stay up-to-date on banking issues in the General Assembly by signing up to receive the Legislative Bulletin here. Also, registration is still open for the VBA/ABA Washington Summit for March 7-9. We remain hopeful this event will be held in-person.

Please note that the Financial Forecast will now take place virtually on Thursday, January 13th at noon. Individual registrations are still available. Contact Kristen Reid with questions on the Financial Forecast.
