Ben Candland from McGuire Woods will discuss current trust, estate, and wealth management hot topics to include recent tax changes.  Following his presentation there will be time for Q&A and open discussion with Ben on other topics of interest to attendees.  The event will also include lunch, during which attendees and members of the VBA’s Trust & Wealth Management Committee will participate in a roundtable discussion on trends in trust & wealth management.

About the Speaker

Ben S. Candland is a Partner at McGuire Woods.  Ben’s practice involves estate planning, estate administration, estate and gift taxation, and fiduciary litigation.  He advises corporate fiduciaries and trust departments concerning the administration of trusts and estates and related tax and regulatory issues.  He regularly represents corporate fiduciaries, individual fiduciaries, and beneficiaries in fiduciary litigation matters and trust administration matters.  While earning his JD, Ben was a member of the editorial board of the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal.  He is also a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
