Walter Ayers Fund for Financial Education
Walter Ayers served as the President of the Virginia Bankers Association for 23 years from 1983-2007. The Walter Ayers Fund for Financial Education was formed in honor of Walter’s contributions to Virginia’s banking industry and in recognition of his long-term commitment to economic education. 90 banks have pledged and/or contributed to this fund.
Investments and Partnerships
Virginia Council on Economic Education (VCEE)
In 2008, the VBA Education Foundation provided a grant to the VCEE to sponsor six economics and financial literacy workshops for teachers across Virginia. In 2009, the Foundation provided another grant to the VCEE to support 11 additional workshops across the Commonwealth.
